The Nervous System is a set of body structure like that work together to meet a number of functions that are the result of a common condition, ie nerve impulse conduction.

The nervous system can be divided in two ways: topographical and functional.
A) Topographic Division :
This division corresponds to the location of the elements that constitute the nervous system, and there is a Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System.
The CNS includes the brain called - cord, ie ranging from the brain to the bone all the bodies named above.
The SNP is composed of the different nerves which are distributed from the CNS to the whole organism.
B) Functional Division:
This division refers to the mode that has the nervous system to respond to a stimulus, because the response may be voluntary or involuntary; how to respond in the SN may depend on the will of the individual or independent of it.
In the first case the SN is called voluntary life or relationship, working directly under the action of the will, for example the fact of wanting to open or close the hand.
In the case of involuntary system is self-governing, why is also called autonomic or sympathetic to - nice, eg the movements of the heart or intestines.
We can open or close the hand at will (voluntary system), but we can not stop heartbeat just wish it (involuntary system)
